Overview

Located South of Cahir town, this park is where Suir Blueway Tipperary starts, at Cahir Castle, and offers excellent walking and cycling trails, as well as paddling for kayakers, canoeists and paddleboarders on the River Suir, which splits the park. Walking trails in the forest and along the river towpath lead all the way to the beautiful Swiss Cottage.

There is a wide range of flora and fauna to be enjoyed on these walks at any time of year – including swans and ducks on the river as well as squirrels, pheasant and grey squirrel in the forest. The Suir is also a very popular salmon fishing river and there are fishing stands to access it.
