Overview

Ballinacourty Loop is one of a series of two developed trailheads in the Glen Of Aherlow. (Christ the King Statue and Lisvarrinane), the lush valley where the River Aherlow runs between the Galtee Mountains and the wooded ridge of Slievenamuck.

Historically an important pass between Limerick and Tipperary, the glen is now one of Tipperary’s most attractive and scenic holiday destinations. The 10km loop is of moderate difficulty, with a 240m ascent on mostly forestry tracks.
