Vue d'ensemble

Bansha Wood offers some great walks and contains the site of a penal church west of Slievenamuck, Ballagh Fort and the ruin of Aherlow Castle. Moor’s Rock is situated 1km from the car. From this rock there are panoramic views of counties Tipperary, Cork, and Limerick.

Originally part of the Moor Estate, there are many references to Moor (also spelt Moore) in the area, including Moor’s Rock and Moor Abbey.
