The Apple Farm

At The Apple Farm we love all the fruits we grow. We also love showing people how the fruits are grown, and what we can make with them too.

A tour of the farm begins with looking at a crop or two (weather dependent), where we discuss interesting aspects of fruit growing, managing plants, and minding them so that they stay healthy. How ecology and agriculture interact often comes into the topic, as questions often lead the direction of the conversation.

Depending on the time of year, we may be making a juice or cider product, or something else using our fruits. It is possible to see the processing and equipment, to get an idea for what happens in a food-production business. Sometimes it is possible to taste a freshly made product during the tour. If not, the last part of the tour involves a product tasting, and look at the farm shop, where we sell our fruits and products.

WHERE: Moorstown, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, E21 YX33.

TOUR DETAILS: A tour lasts 1 to 1.5 hours. Our minimum group size is 6 people @ €20 per person (Min. Spend €120 per tour) For larger group tours, we can arrange a price per person. Please contact us directly. Tours must be pre-booked.

Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers Visitor Experience & Tasting Experience

Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers is a 100% family owned and managed business. When Louis & Jane Grubb moved back to the family farm in the late 1970s, their ambition was to harness the quality of their sweet, creamy milk to make a traditional farmhouse product, and in doing so to provide a livelihood for their family and locality. From this notion Cashel Blue® was born.

Cashel Blue® continues to be made in a traditional manner by the second generation, Sarah and Sergio Furno. They also make Cashel Blue Organic, Crozier Blue – Ireland’s only Sheep’s milk blue, and Shepherd’s Store, our hard sheep’s milk cheese.
