Dating back to medieval times, Carrick-on-Suir was one of seven walled towns in Tipperary, originally located on the northern banks of the River Suir. Today, the town spans both sides of the river, with remnants of the town walls, including the West Gate, still visible. Influenced by the Butler family, the town features Ormond Castle and the charming Old Bridge from 1447. The fair green and Treacy Park offer access to the Suir Blueway, ideal for walking, biking, or paddling.
