Vue d'ensemble

Housed at the Black Mills in Roscrea, County Tipperary, St Cronan’s High Cross is a fascinating relic that once sat in a nearby graveyard. It was restored and moved to the mills centre in 2004. The cross stands about 3m tall and comprises fragments from two 12th-century crosses that are mounted together.

It features different religious scenes, including that of the crucifixion of Jesus and the Fall of Man. Across the road, visitors can also view St Cronan’s Church and the cross previous location, where a replica now stands.
