SUMMARY:Mary Coughlan
DESCRIPTION:Coming off the back of an incredible\, sold out performance at the Galway International Arts Festival\, the legendary jazz & blues singer comes to The Source Arts Centre. \nMary Coughlan’s career in music has been one hell-of-a-ride. Often described as the greatest female vocalist that Ireland has ever produced\, Coughlan proudly stands alongside some of the world’s most iconic jazz singers. She is unique in blending whisky-blurred\, smoke-seared\, husky notes with the laconic wit of Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee. She draws the line of deep\, down and dirty blues singers back to Bessie Smith with the sardonic\, bitter-sweet defiance and despair of Edith Piaf. Yet Mary Coughlan delivers it all in a delicious and unapologetic Irish drawl: sceptical\, rueful\, mournful and melting and ardent for love.

SUMMARY:Emma Langford
DESCRIPTION:Emma Langford puts a contemporary spin on the sound of Irish folk; her songs present a unique look at her country’s folklore and history\, bringing ancient stories into the present\, and in so-doing\, offering insight into some of life’s universal truths. From her 2021 album “Sowing Acorns”\, tracks The Winding Way Down to Kells Bay and the epic acapella anthem Birdsong both quickly climbed the charts\, and truly solidified her place as a versatile and much sought-after singer-songwriter on the Irish and international music scene. \nPushing to further blur the artist/activist line she straddles\, Langford’s recent work sees her grapple with growing societal issues\, such as gender-based violence\, animal cruelty\, and colonialism. \nAward-nominated\, and award-winning\, Langford was the first winner of the Emerging Artist award at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards\, was a nominee for Germany’s Eisernen Eversteiner Folk Music Prize\, and was the inaugural recipient of the Dolores O’Riordan Bursary. For International Women’s Day 2023 she joined Éimear Noone\, the National Symphony Orchestra\, and a lineup of top Irish vocalists including Wallis Bird and Celine Byrne to premier “Daughters of The Pirate Queen”\, a collection of new original works inspired by Gráinne Mhaol. She is also a recurring member of the Irish Women In Harmony collective. \n25th April 2026\n 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM\n Cashel\, Co. Tipperary\, E25 YE89
