Rossa Pottery is Ireland’s oldest handmade pottery. Located in the heart of Cashel Town. Rossa Pottery was established by Ned Walsh in 1962 in the stable yard at the back of a pub on Main Street in Cashel. On his own he exported all over the world. Alan having grown up in the Pottery environment was naturally drawn towards the love of clay and creating with his dad. After studying and working in various potteries in Ireland and abroad he came home with extra skills and joined Ned where they created Rossa’s blue range, not long after Sarah joined Rossa Pottery in 1997 having met Alan in collage. Today they still use all the original glaze recipes from Ned’s notebook. Rossa is proud and protective of the traditional methods of making handmade pottery, no machines or moulds only hands and the pottery wheel are used to create these magnificent pieces.
