Glengarra Wood

Glengarra Woods is a real treat and a great spot for a picnic. It has many impressive tree and shrub species, including Californian sequoia, Bhutan pine, Wellingtonia or Giant sequoia, yew and Monterey cypress. There is a closed canopy of exotic rhododendron over the main access road that flowers in the early summer and is worth a visit to see in itself. The Wood has two looped walks. The Red Loop is an easy 2km which takes 30 minutes to complete, while the longer Millennium (Green) Trail is 7km, takes 2-2.5 hours an presents a moderate challenge.
